Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander admitted he "expected more" from his side after his return to Bury ended in a 1-0 defeat. The former Shakers director of football saw his side comprehensively outplayed by their hosts, with Elliott Bennett's first-half goal deciding matters.
The defeat leaves Macclesfield just four points above the drop zone and Alexander knows his side must improve in their final two games.
He said: "It's very disappointing, you expect more from your team, especially in a derby game.
"It's not what we want. We want to win games and we haven't even had a shot on goal.
"Sometimes it's easy to get a lot of forwards on the pitch but you still have to get the service up to them."
