Rochdale manager Keith Hill insisted he had no doubts his side would beat Morecambe after their 1-0 win cemented a League Two play-off berth.With Hereford and Stockport both losing, Rene Howe's goal midway through the second half kept alive Dale's faint hopes of automatic promotion.

Hill said: "I had no doubt we would win the game, but Morecambe made it very hard for us.

"They came with five in midfield and tried to make it difficult for us to break them down.

"They achieved that, but sometimes you have to draw on resources you don't know you have and we did that."
