Bury manager Alan Knill was delighted after his team beat rivals Macclesfield 1-0 and secured their fifth successive home victory. The former Rotherham boss saw his side comprehensively outplay their opponents, with Elliott Bennett's first-half goal deciding matters.
Knill has transformed the Shakers' fortunes since taking over in February and this victory lifted them to 14th in the table.
He said: "It's the fifth home win on the trot, which is great considering we couldn't win at all before.
"It's difficult to keep players motivated when you don't have anything left to play for, especially after losing 3-0 at Barnet last week.
"But it was all about bouncing back, which is what we did. Macclesfield started well but we had better technical players who could move the ball around the pitch and we were comfortable in the end."
