Notts County manager Ian McParland cursed his side's poor defending after their 1-0 defeat at Wrexham left them two points above the drop zone.Wrexham skipper Neil Roberts was the hero of the Racecourse Ground after scoring the goal that gave them a glimmer of hope against relegation.
McParland said: "The key to defending is staying on your feet. Lee Canoville didn't, he brought a lad down and then went to sleep at the far post.
"We missed six or seven great chances, but that's not what killed us - the defending has.
"We just lack the steel to kill teams off, and I've always said it was going to go down to the wire."
