Southend manager Steve Tilson felt the red card received by Carlisle defender David Raven in his side's 2-1 win at Brunton Park was harsh.Raven was sent off for a late challenge on Nicky Bailey midway through the second half.
"The sending-off gave us more space and time on the ball and we capitalised on it," said Tilson. "I'm not saying it was a sending off - maybe a booking. But if you go in with studs showing these days referees are liable to send you off. However, it was harsh."
A 13-game unbeaten run has seen Southend claim a play-off place and Tilson added: "It's going to be a tough task but we have as good a chance as anyone in the play-offs."
