Tue 20 May, 05:00 PM

Northampton boss Stuart Gray has opened contract talks with goalkeeper Mark Bunn who has a year left on his current contract.Recent reports have linked the 23-year-old Centre of Excellence graduate with a move away from Sixfields.

However, Gray is confident he can secure the signature of Bunn, who has made over 100 appearances for the Cobblers since turning professional in the summer of 2004.

"Mark is a very good keeper and he is a player we want to keep at the club," Gray told the club's official website.

"There have been various newspaper reports out there about Mark recently and people will speculate about our players but if they are that means we are doing well and that is the price you have to pay.

"We are keen to try and sort Mark's contract out and the chairman and I have met with his agent and we will have to see what happens. We want to fulfil our ambitions and we see Mark as a very important player to help us do that."
