Holland ponders squad clearout

Tue 20 May, 01:30 PM

Crewe first-team coach Steve Holland is "considering strengthening in all positions" after the way his side performed in their final game.A disastrous 4-1 home defeat to Oldham meant the Alex were forced to rely on results elsewhere to retain their League One status, and Holland admits the performance is still bothering him.

He told the club's official website: "Towards the end of the season we thought we were making progress. We had some good results and some good performances and then we had the disappointment of the Oldham game.

"We are still seething from that performance. It wasn't acceptable and it has put us in the mood that when an agent rings us we are considering all options.

"We were that annoyed with the way we played against Oldham that we are not ruling anything out."

He added: "We are being inundated with names and players that have been released. There have been lots of names thrown around and we are considering strengthening in all positions."
