Comparing other clubs' interest in you to being fancied by Beyonce Knowles is quite apt in Emmanuel Adebayor's case - each is a figment of his imagination.
But there do appear to be two clubs who might, indeed, be truly hoping to secure the services of the languid striker, and both are based in Milan.
Adebayor has been a master of delusion since he and his representatives woke up one morning and decided over Sugar Puffs that every club under the sun was a huge admirer.
Jay-Z may be less than enamoured by the striker saying interest from Milan is like being told Beyonce fancies you, but he probably admires his capacity for self-promotion.
For Arsene Wenger, however, enough is finally enough.
When the dynamic duo of Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport both report Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi saying "there is a good chance we will get Adebayor", then perhaps we should believe them.
It is well known that the present incumbent of the Milan hotseat, Carlo Ancelotti, is a genuine fan of the Togo international, as opposed to the admirers created by Adebayor himself.
While the persistent rumours of Ancelotti leaving for Chelsea are unrelenting, it seems that Berlusconi has taken heed of his manager's advice and will challenge for the forward's signature, along with rivals Internazionale.
The Telegraph, however, insists Adebayor will be heading to Jose Mourinho's champions, and that £24 million is the price demanded by Arsenal, who appear to have no qualms selling the 25-year-old.
The Mirror are oiling the proverbial wheels of the 'Forlan to Manchester City' potential deal, with £20m the reported fee for the Atletico Madrid 'labrador'.
The Sun have decided that because Carlos Tevez failed to attend the club's end-of-season dinner, that he must be leaving, even though the Argentine was most probably blitzing an evening session on the treadmill with his tongue hanging out.
Stewart Downing, Tuncay Sanli and Afonso Alves will all leave Middlesbrough the very second they are relegated - if that indeed happens - according to the Daily Mail.
If the Teesiders do suffer this plight, the trio will be literally penning contracts, taking post-match medicals, and borrowing David Wheater's phone to finalise transportation - if the paper's speculation is to be believed.
The same paper also states plainly that Wigan and Real Madrid have decided on a fee of £21.5m for winger Antonio Valencia . You can picture Dave Whelan ordering a choice bitter from Florentino Perez's mobile bar, if all goes to plan.
Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has also been linked with a move to the Bernabeu if Perez returns as club president, with the Star reporting that £21m would be an appropriate amount.
Barcelona wonderkid Bojan Krkic will be on his way to Glasgow, with Celtic reportedly agreeing a loan deal with the Spanish giants.
Krkic would do well to adopt a cautious approach to negotiations: the last prodigious talent to leave the Nou Camp for the British Isles, Giovani dos Santos, ended up at Portman Road.
Which brings us not so neatly to Tottenham, who the Mirror speculates will sign Lazio striker Goran Pandev over the summer.
While Harry Redknapp is at it, he will - apparently - dip his toes into the giant Edin Dzeko pool, with Wolfsburg understood to be willing to sell the Bosnian forward.
The Daily Express argues that Spurs owner Daniel Levy will instead be asked to bank-roll an £8 million deal for Celtic's combative midfielder Scott Brown.
Presumably Bhoys manager Gordon Strachan will not be too happy to see his player of the year jump ship.
Red Bull Salzburg left-back Ronald Gercaliu has reportedly given Celtic the come and get me line of "I'm flattered to be linked". Whether more will comes of it is anyone's guess, including Gercaliu's.
Bruno Aguiar's extended flirting with both Old Firm clubs has led Ajax to enter the fray, according to various sources, while Hearts will turn their attention to Darlington striker Pawel Abbott.
Relegated West Brom are heavily involved in the market already, with Paul Robinson set to leave for Bolton, while unsettled Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson may seek solace at the Hawthorns.
And finally, Championship winners Wolves are reportedly competing with Wigan for the signature of Portsmouth's contract rebel Sean Davis, with a bid also lodged for Standard Liege centre-back Oguchi Onyewu.

Lee Dixon, arsenal fans pay good money to watch good football and win trophies. we play one style only and it has been counter attacked so that dont work. secondly, the fans demand success and why shouldnt they?
we are not supporters of shares or wenger fanatics, we want to have more than just pass and pass and pass with no end product. this is what don howe was renowned for. Arsenal fans have been taking bets as to whether the team will shoot or not? that is why we are not happy, and the lies, nobody tells us anything!
I do not understand why all of you are so bitter toward Ade, he is definitely good, I hope AFC will manage to keep him but with all this attitude.... I wouldn't judge him if he decided to leave. I hope he will decide to stay though and to proof all of you wrong.
Saeed, if you're that fickle that a weak Arsenal side would make you leave us as a fan - you're not worth anything to us. You probably never go to the games, maybe watch on TV in your fake shirt so just leave then .... if you're unhappy
any player can be better under the right manager just look at chelsea under scolari you cant believe its the same team as under hiddink
adebayor is agood player on his day, but doesn't have enough days. he like ronaldo at utd has looked unhappy at still being in english football this season, both clubs should get rid of these players as they will never play to thier full potential if not happy being there, arsenal are a good side with a fantastic manager who has a keen eye for great players
I agree with all of you who say Bendtner is bad, but that is just for now. I seriously think Arsenal need someone who is not scared to try and hit for goal other than RVP and Arshavin, and i think that is bendtner. Let him get a bit more confidence and i definitely think we will see something of him. As for Ade, let him go, Wenger I'm sure will be able to replace him with someone a lot better from all the cash he will get for him...
Why every1 hate ADEBAYOR........
He is good player....
and we will just have Van Persie and Bendtner.......
and ARSENAL will have weak player.....
and i will retired for being ARSENAL fan!!!!!!!!

if alonso is going prolly means barry is gonna sign for liverpool, last season id of thought that was a good move but with the year alonso as had; equal to stevie g in my opinion then it doesnt look so good. i would rly love to see a big name coming to liverpool this year ribery or messi would be rly good tho i doubt that will happen. david villa is a maybe to join but his reluctance to move out of spain makes me think he might not make it in the premier league and even doubts it himself.
ADEBAYOR YOU ARE A POOR STRIKER PLEASE DO GO ASAP
Saheed, without Alonso there is Lucas to replace Gerrard. And thats scary...
Get him out........Arsenal are turning into a feeder club these days anyway might aswell sell every1 isnt that what Wenger does? sell sell sell buy buy.....oh wait Wenger dosnt buy does he
sell ade.arshavin and walcott up front would be fine.also rate bendtner.need decent cdm, like essien to let fabregas free and take pressure of shaky defence
Well i thnk ade is a fine player but i also thnk arsenal needs more than ade to breakthrough, so the door is wide open for him to leave while we try some new legs in hauntelar or..... Long live the gunners
Lets face it Arsene Knows what he,s doing. Lets remember Anelka, Viera, overmars,Petit all players sold for a profit. We need silverware and that costs money. 23-30 million let him go ,he started off ok and now bearly makes us smile. bye bye.
Kofi,
Ade - bye - door is useless...
The End!
Possibly the most over rated player in the prem league!!!
No sorry im wrong its santa cruze,
No sorry wrong again!!
Bentner.
oh i give up
Milan this time, so thats chelsea, Milan, inter, real, man city, and barecelona????????
Smacks of a agent desperate to get some interest in his player!!
ALL THOSE ARSENAL FANS CALLING FOR ADEBAYOR TO BE SOLD IN THE SUMMER WILL REGRET IT WHEN BENDTNER CONTINUE FIRING BLANKS.AM SUPRISED THEY HAVE NOT COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW RUBBISH BENDTNER IS.HE IS THE MOST EASIEST JOB FOR ANY PL DEFENDER.HOW DO YOU EXPECT ADE TO BE LONE STRIKER AGAINST TOP DEFENDERS IN MANU AND CHELSEA AND BE ABLE TO SCORE.WAS A WRONG TACTIC.SELL BENDTNER AND BUY KELWYN JONES TO PARTNER ADEBAYOR AND IT WILL BE NIGHT MARE FOR DEFENDERS IN THE PL
im not a arsenal fan but ive watched quite alot of them this season, and id deffo get rid of adebayor hes a bad egg, egotistic and isnt that good, yes when hes on form hes unplayable but thats far from often enough for one the big four.
