Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has saluted the job Harry Redknapp has done turning around the fortunes of the club this season.
Redknapp arrived at White Hart Lane seven months ago with Spurs bottom of the Barclays Premier League, but they head into the final week of the campaign with an outside chance of Europa League qualification.
"Whilst it was undoubtedly the more difficult option at the time, I am delighted that the changes have proved to have been the correct ones and that we have been able to enjoy a positive ending to our season," Levy said.
"It has been a terrific team effort led by Harry Redknapp and I am extremely grateful for the drive and determination of all concerned to effect this turnaround."
Levy and Redknapp are planning to sell players in the summer to raise the money for three additions the Spurs boss feels will make the difference to his side.
"We need to sell one or two, in his (Levy's) words, be creative in the transfer market in the summer," Redknapp said.
Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has been linked with Spurs in Italy, while Wolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko has emerged as a possible target but has been quoted insisting he would prefer a move to Serie A.
Roman Pavlyuchenko has been tipped as a possible departure but explained to Redknapp that playing in the Russian league before joining Spurs means he has not had a proper break.
"We had a good talk," Pavlyuchenko told Sport Express. "Redknapp said that he understood it was impossible to go through such a long season as mine without a drop in form."
"He said that he was relying on me, and that I had to score 20 goals next season. I told him 'no problem'."

offload tomas pekhart?? he is a really promising youngster who has been top scorer for the past 2 years or so and not even featured yet. how u figure that?? i think we need a more consistant left back,bent is good but wont sit on the bench so he should go and replace him with santa cruz. i like jenas but he is so inconsistant and dont score enough goals so maybe time to move on. would love tevez to sign but will never happen wouldnt mind ireland from man city to replace jenas, good player. pav needs to be given a rest and another chance. nplayed a stupid amount of games.

As regards to telling Ferguson at Man U, who he can and can't pick, it was all made up by the cockney Man U loving media. We have never tried to influence A Ferguson. Agree or disagree on players is one thing but all Spurs fans must agree that Harry Redknapp was the best choice to replace Ramos.Daniel Levy said difficult decision but I say RIGHT decision.
What's all this @#$% i'm reading - I really dont get some spurs fans - the current squad for the majority of the season have done great and most of you are talking about replacing them... even dropping Ledley!!!
I agree i'd like to see the back of some players - but what i would prefer to see is some consistency, every summer our squad seems to completely change and it wrecks everything. Harry will sign 1 or 2 players to strengten and sell the dead wood.

We do have the spending power of the 'big four' its just that we have not spent very wisely! lets be honest Bentley, Pav and Chimbonda? thats a lot of money for average (at best) players! we need a left winger and at any cost!! Lennon Palacious and Modric and a n other what a midfield..COYS
Its been a character forming season for some of the players,and some will be there next season.As a club we dont have the Big Four spending power so we need players who will give 100% to Spurs and not regard us as a stepping stone to the aforementioned clubs.Harry is an astute buyer and seller of players so expect surprises and good players at a good price.The infrastructure for a good Spurs team is there and Harry wants to retire on a high note.
its true he's had a long season and adjusting to a new league/club would be difficult. Keep him he's a classy player, just needs time. The likes of Ricardo Rocha , Kevin-Prince Boateng, Tomas Pekhart and Gilberto are dead wood that needs chopping. Should Ledley King stay or go?
