Less than 48 hours after the chequered flag dropped at the US Grand Prix, nine of the 11 Formula One team were back in action at the Silverstone circuit.

Ralf Schumacher set the pace in his Toyota with a best time of 1:22.794s ahead of Pedro de la Rosa who was on duty for the McLaren Mercedes team.

Mark Webber was third fastest for the Red Bull Renault team ahead of Heikki Kovalainen in the Renault.

Luca Badoer was in action for the Ferrari team as they, along with BMW Sauber, test aero updates ahead of the French Grand Prix. Badoer was fifth fastest ahead of Nick Heidfeld, Tonio Liuzzi in his Toro Rosso Ferrari and Kazuke Nakajima in the Williams Toyota.

Spyker split the day between Adrian Valles and Giedo van der Garde.
