Bury director Ian Harrop has confirmed the club are on the verge of landing Mansfield Town midfielder Stephen Dawson.The 22-year-old has been offered new terms by the Stags but Harrop confirmed Shakers boss Alan Knill is currently in negotiations to bring the out-of-contract midfielder to Gigg Lane.

"Stephen is one of a number of players we are currently in negotiation with," he said. "Hopefully, the deal will be concluded shortly."
