Rochdale boss Keith Hill admits his side face a hard task to emulate their achievements of last season.Dale reached the League Two play-off at Wembley last month but slipped to a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat.

The reverse condemned the Lancashire outfit to a 35th consecutive year in the bottom tier of English football.

Hill said: "It is going to be difficult to improve on last season if I am honest.

"It is vital that we first of all retain the contracted players that we already have and that have served us so well.

"Trying to improve their deals is a big part of what we are looking to achieve."
