The 33-year-old veteran striker was released by Darlington manager Dave Penney along with eight other players after the Quakers narrowly missed out on the League Two play-off final when they were beaten on penalties by Rochdale in a dramatic semi-final.

The former Leicester, Aston Villa and Coventry striker will complete his move to the Linnets, who will play in the Blue Square North after winning promotion as champions of the British Gas Southern Football League Premier Division last season, on July 1.
