Williams grabbed a one-two in the final free practice session for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone with Nico Rosberg going fastest.
The German, who has now been quickest in 11 of the season's 24 practice sessions so far without finishing higher than fifth in a race, lapped the former World War Two airfield in one minute, 18.899 seconds.
Japanese team mate Kazuki Nakajima, who has yet to score a point this season, was second quickest at the fast, windswept track that handed his team a first Formula One win back in 1979.
Brawn's Jenson Button, appearing before his home fans as championship leader, was 12th quickest after a difficult day on Friday.
The 29-year-old has a 26-point lead over team mate Rubens Barrichello and is chasing his seventh win in eight races. The crowd very much behind him as he prepared for qualifying.
'Jenson for Prime Minister', read one banner in the main grandstand. 'Marry me Jenson,' declared another on a union flag.
A similar message further down the stand was directed at McLaren's world champion Lewis Hamilton, who won his home race by a massive 68 seconds last year but has struggled this season. He was 11th fastest on Saturday.
Toyota's Jarno Trulli was third with Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, fastest in both sessions on Friday, fourth on an overcast and chilly morning.

the hamster slapping will continue.
Go Kazuki. You are getting better. Show some guts
Fifth and seventh on the grid with some pretty stout opposition all about them. Still, best of luck to Williams and everyone else as well!
hamster slapped again.
WITH WILLIAMS REMAINING WITH MAX AND HIS DICTATORSHIP MR HAMILTONS SON MAY SWITCH FROM MCLAREN TO WILLIAMS AND RUN IN THE FIA CHAMPIONSHIP NOW THAT WILLIAMS WILL BE THE MOST DOMINATE TEAM IN F1.
oh!, Buttom must have left the six wings at the back, and the banneed front two aerodenamic appendages at home...!!!luckily he is in running in the Uk, so he will get them delivered by pizza hut before the qualy!. Nobody panics!, they are just saving querosene of the F15 fighter jet they hyde under the diffuser, they will switch it on soon... Barrichelo: it will look like an accident!, don't take it on yourself...
Or...has the prospect of Bernie and Moslely loosing out the competition chaged the one they want to win. Damm they take the decision of making a ferrari guy winning at Silverstone!, couldn't they wait one more race? how rude of you !, ha,ha,ha
Ps: who is the hamster? buttom, Barrichelo or Brawn?....can't make my mind...please explain
just watched thge Beeb Eccelscakes has just said that he hopes Donington can compelte but if they don't then the race will definitely be back at Silverstone next year!!
mm-out!
Nakajima do something. LH can continue to sleep.
I would like to see Rosberg and Nakajima have a good race day. They have shown promise in practice and qualifying this year. Put it together on race day and get a podium for Williams-Toyota. Toyota with all four cars in the top seven. Could it be a good points race day for the Toyota teams?
COME ON RED BULL, STOP BRAWN IN THEIR TRACKS AND LET US HAVE A DECENT RACE FOR A CHANGE!!!!!
Button to take pole and lead a Brawn 1-2 in the race tomorrow
WHAT A FINE YOUNG MAN IS MR HAMILTONS SON, WHAT A CREDIT HE IS
these times dont mean much...button will get pole with his final lap, and hamilton will hopefully make Q2 and maybe Q1
Rosi and Button for a great front row!
fast around silverstone... like father like son
Come on rosberg for pole position its a great chance to finish 1 to 4 position
Never mind the split, enjoy the day! I want to see my local hero (Hamilton, of course) shake off all the controversy surrounding him, and have a front line tussle with Button. Could even be an all-British one-two-three (or at least two drivers and three cars!) Bob from Hitchin in Hertfordshire
