Plymouth have received bids for five unnamed players but boss Paul Sturrock is adamant that no deals will be done unless they represent good business for the club.
Sturrock is keen to make signings himself but he is under pressure to trim the squad, making departures from Home Park inevitable.
"I`ve had enquiries for five players," he told the club`s website. "In the last two days I`ve had phone calls from certain managers about the availability of certain players - for permanent deals and loans.
"It`s encouraging but some of the deals don`t suit us. They are not good deals. They are not of benefit to Plymouth Argyle.
"There are a lot of discussions to go on with certain football clubs, managers and agents before anything happens.
"The Catch 22 is that, if we bring in before we put out, and we don`t put out, the budget increases instead of decreases. It`s a fine-line time-frame at this minute."
