Joorabchian reveals Tevez torment

Sat 20 Jun, 03:05 PM

Carlos Tevez opted against signing a lucrative new deal at Manchester United because he "wasn't the most wanted person" at Old Trafford, according to his advisor Kia Joorabchian.

United chief executive David Gill had been in discussions with Joorabchian, with the aim of keeping the popular Argentina forward.

But, despite the offer of a five-year contract that would have made Tevez one of the highest paid players at the club, the 25-year-old has decided to leave.

Joorabchian told TalkSport: "I don't think it's correct to say `his face doesn't fit'. He was very much a part of the Manchester United team the last two years but clearly the last one year he's been very disappointed.

"I think he's been even more disappointed that it has to come to the fact that the loan deal finishes.

"If it was, let's say, Wayne Rooney's contract finishing six months before, or Cristiano Ronaldo's contract finishing six months before, would they have offered a better deal to them at that time or would they have tried to secure their services a bit sooner?"

  1. I think both parties are to be blamed. With a lot of great players around, it is not hard to have choices and Tevez rate himself too highly. I am no MU fan but I consider Ronaldo and Rooney better players whilst Tevez thinks otherwise. What the heck, it is all in the past now.

  2. i agree with Brian Sharman. Did u guys remember the day we almost lost to Tottenham Hotspurs in Old Trafford in the last season? remember? who change the game entirely after we lost 2-0 in the first half? REMEMBER? TEVEZ my friend it was TEVEZ all the time. Michael Carrick's pass last season was RUBBISH all the time...and he still got all of his chances in the field...always in starting eleven...SAF is an old man already, his vision a lil bit blurred this time. We are all will surely the determined Carlitos. We love you Carlitos!

  5. If the interview you have just conducted with Kia Joorabchian is factually correct, particularly the point he made that Tevez has never made any demands in relation to his personal terms, then we have to look elsewhere for the cause of the split. My take is that Tevez lost his desire and commitment whilst sat on the bench or sat in his armchair watching the rubbish performances from the likes of Giggs, Scholes and Carrick and yet the manager seems to have some sort of fixation with these players who should not be part of the team. Whilst Giggs and Scholes have been great players, their performances throughout most of this season and before, have verged on the inept. They are now well past their sell by date. And Carrick's distribution is just about acceptable if he is given half an hour to choose his pass. In tight situations, his distribution is dire and he is far too slow of both foot and mind. The performances of Berbatov are also likely to have grated with Tevez when the world and its dog generally share the view that Berbatov is a lazy so and so. I am the first to admit that often, the industry put in by Tevez is completely wasteful but the point is that he is always trying to inject some measure of impetous into the team which is more than can be said of the players I have mentioned. SAF needs to get his act together otherwise he wiil completerly lose the plot and United's dominant reign will be over.

  8. James D ,another plonker, Tevez and Ronaldo won the title for you last year, every time one of you manures writes something you prove even further what a bunch of no marks you really are, who know nothing about football, in fact Liverpool supporters have forgotten more about football than you lot know.

  9. Yeah I mean SAF would have secured Rooney's services earlier because HE'S A BETTER PLAYER!! Tevez is a halfwit who thinks he should be on the same money as Rooney and co. SAF would've offered him a contract if his demands weren't greedy and ridiculous. The sheer greed that some of these spoiled players display in the midst of a global recession appalls me!
