Manager Paul Lambert will use the loan system to bolster his Colchester squad.

Lambert is looking for new players, but the club's finances are restricted since they fell out of the Championship.

He told the East Anglian Daily Times: "I am trying to get a few more in, though the club does not have the same finances in the past when they were in the Championship.

"It will probably be a case of recruiting some players through season-long loans, and others through joining us."

Meanwhile, Colchester's League One clash at Brighton has been moved back 24 hours to Friday, December 11 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
