O'Connor set for surgery

Millwall have confirmed that Patrick O'Connor will see a surgeon next week.

The defender suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament injury after slipping and falling awkwardly while doing some fitness work in the off-season.

O'Connor will see a surgeon with a view to an operation when the swelling settles.

Meanwhile, Adam Bolder (broken hand) and Jimmy Adbou (bruised back and ribs) will be fit to start pre-season training after recovering from the injuries they picked up in the play-off final defeat to Scunthorpe last month.

Gary Alexander had an operation on his ear after the clash at Wembley and is also suffering from a swollen knee caused by an inflamed cyst.

Physio Bobby Bacic told the club's official website: "We may modify Gary's training for the first week of pre-season if the cyst remains irritable."
