Carlisle defender David Raven has signed a new one-year contract with the League One club.

The right-back had a verbal agreement in place with the Cumbrians but has now put pen to paper on the deal.

Manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "As I said last week, I am delighted that David will be with us again next season.

"He is a solid player with a good reading of the game and it gives us good strength in that position."

Raven, 24, moved to Brunton Park in the summer of 2006 and has since made over 125 appearances for the club.
