Manchester City and Chelsea are leading the race for Carlos Tevez after he opted against signing a lucrative new deal at Manchester United because he "wasn't the most wanted person" at Old Trafford, according to his advisor Kia Joorabchian.
United chief executive David Gill had been in discussions with Joorabchian, with the aim of keeping the popular Argentina forward.
But, despite the offer of a five-year contract that would have made Tevez one of the highest paid players at the club, the 25-year-old has decided to leave.
Joorabchian told TalkSport: "Without getting into the point of whether he's going to City or Chelsea or wherever, the issue is that I think Carlos wants to go to a club which has real ambition, a club which is showing intent, a club which he can help achieve great things.
"City have shown a lot of ambition with the players they've brought in in the last year or so, and Chelsea are also showing a lot of ambition - they want to win the Champions League."

me thinks u stupid
Me thinks he's chelski's boy.
hmmm...i'm not denying that money was a factor in robinho's move to city, but I also think play time was a big decider as well. I think he'd rather get lots of play time in a small club and be well paid for it than be a bench warmer at Real Madrid............its probably the same reason Tevez is leaving United. Too many strikers to vie for position with and not enough game starts.
robinho doesnt want to play for a small club like city,,he is just a greedy man who choose £££'s instead of quality
city, buy tevez and use him instead of robinho for away games
tevez has shown he can perform away from home and robinho cannot
EUAN you only have to look at united depth and chelsea a few years ago to see why tevez at chelsea would be good buy but torres that out this world he great stiker but not as good as anelka as his proved by the amount of goals scored in a season chelsea have great side if not for scolari maybe we have done a lot better lets see how it goes this season with cole back and maybe new player or 2 just to get real depth in strenth think if lampard was out for say 3 months that be death
WHAT A JOKE! MANC CITY OR MIGHTY CHELSEA FC. THATS LIKE SAYING CORNED BEEF OR STEAK! A QUALITY PROVEN CLUB OR A MID TABLE TEAM IN THE SCUMMY NORTHERN SUBURBS WHERE NO ONE OF WORLD CLASS QUALITY CAN BE ENTICED. TEVEZ YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR MOST WELCOME CFC.
Uhm, even if he comes to City, I dont know if Mark Hughes can deal with his petchulent behaviour in the right manner and get the best out of him.
Tevez for Liverpool I Think!!! What a partnership he'd have with Torres!!!
tevez for city
Tevez is better than all those with the possible exception of the much injured Joe Cole. We need him as almost all other players good enough to improve Chelsea are heading for Spain.
And 2 seasons without winning the EPL we do need to improve
wayne b, youre talking @#$%, man utd didnt want him until twataldo put in another transfer request then they panicked and offered him a new contract. he will settle in well at chelsea as long as we get rid of drogba, and he would be properly appreciated by the fans at .
Why go to city they're not even in champions league and got no chance in the league. A backward step methinks! And why be a bit part player at Chelsea like he was at Scum Utd
How will Tevez fit in? With Cole ready for next season, Drogba getting back his appetite and Anelka showing his class (as well as Malouda finding form and Kalou poping up to score important goals as well as di Santo waiting patiently to show he is the new Osgood etc). Buying Tevez will unsettle a team which seemed to be gelling well towards the back end of the season.
Come on carlos chelsea is you team of choice I think you will be crowned the new zola
tevez for aldershot.
i think after the way he's behaved sulking like a 12 yr old instead of acting like a pro footballer making a 100k a week he's somewhat retarded
tevez to chelsea is a great great shout,we need a pitbull in the box
Chelsea for Tevez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
The problem is Joorabchian, not Tevez. No one wants to pay this leach anything!!
