MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo believes 'there is still work to be done' after his side lost 2-1 to Reading in his first game in charge.Goals from Jimmy Kebe and Stephen Hunt were enough to give the Championship side a confidence-boosting win against the newly-promoted League One side.
A late consolation goal from teenage striker Sam Baldock came too late for the Dons to produce an equaliser but Di Matteo was happy with his team's effort and told the club's official website: "I've lost my undefeated record already so I'm not too pleased about that.
"I'm pleased with the performance from the team. It was interesting to see how they put all the training we did in the last couple of weeks into practice but we expected them to be a little bit tired.
"We're not there yet, it's early days and we've only been working two weeks. It's going to take a while but the early signs are good."
