Gillingham boss Mark Stimson wants his players to rise to the occasion in their next pre-season friendly against Ipswich after defeat at Grays.Stimson insisted that not enough of his players 'took responsibility' or showed that they 'wanted the shirt' as Gills lost 1-0 to the Blue Square Premier side.
Ipswich visit Priestfield on Wednesday and Stimson is looking for a response from his players.
"For whatever reason, not enough players stood out for me against Grays. But I think players always raise their game when they play a team from a higher division, you see it every year with the shocks in the FA Cup." Stimson told the club's official website.
"We need to up our game from what it was against Grays because if we don't we will get totally embarrassed.
"Ipswich are a good footballing team and it is good for us to test ourselves against top players because we can learn from that."
