Late Winner For Wolves

Sun 20 Jul, 11:09 PM

Wolves kicked-off their pre-season tour of Scotland on a winning note thanks to a late 1-0 success at Dundee.

The game looked destined to finish scoreless until Michael Kightly picked out Sylvain Ebanks-Blake in the closing stages, and the striker proceeded to lash home from 12-yards out.

Birmingham's impressive pre-season form is showing no signs of relenting following a 2-1 success over Nurnberg in Austria.

Alex McLeish's side led the contest just 11 seconds after kick-off when Garry O'Connor nodded home James McFadden's cross.

The Bundesliga outfit levelled on the quarter-hour mark when Peter Perchtold lashed an arrowing shot across Maik Taylor.

However, the Blues were not to be denied and regained the lead within a minute when McFadden converted Sebastian Larsson's cross.

Leeds United came from two-down against Bray Wanderers before running out 3-2 winners.

Second half goals from Rui Marques, Canadian trialist striker Marcus Haber and Jonathan Howson saw Gary McAllister's side prevail.

Lincoln City ensured bragging rights within the city following a comfortable 6-0 thrashing of Lincoln United.

First half goals from Sam Mullarkey and David Graham plus a second half hat-trick from Romanian trialist Adrian Patulea and a Gary King header saw the Imps easily lift the John Reames Memorial Cup.
