Reaction from the players on completion of their final rounds at the 138th Open Championship at Turnberry.

GOLF - Thomas Levet - Buick Invitational 2006 - 0

Stewart Cink: "I'm a little intimidated by this piece of hardware (the Claret Jug) here. There are a lot of emotions running through my mind and heart and I'm as proud as I can be to be here with this (trophy). It was fun watching Tom all week and I'm sure I speak for all the rest of the people too."

Tom Watson: "It would have been a hell of a story, wouldn't it? It wasn't to be. Yes, it's a great disappointment. It (losing) tears at your gut, as it always has torn at my gut. It's not easy to take."

Lee Westwood (comparing this loss to missing out on the US Open play-off by a shot in 2008): "I've gone from frustration to sickness. Both are pretty sickening but obviously this is the British Open and it's the one that means the most to me... The biggest disappointment is three-putting the last. I thought I needed to (hole) the first putt but I shouldn't have got ahead of myself... I played great all week. Third place is not to be sniffed at in a Major championship."

Chris Wood: "I just felt so proud of myself to stay in every shot. I knew exactly where I wanted to hit every shot and I felt like I did that. (On his disappointing bogey after running through the green at the last) I have never hit a nine-iron 210 yards in my life, so probably a little bit of adrenalin, a bit of a flier. I hit a good shot and it landed on the line exactly how I wanted. It just absolutely went miles. (On his £255,000 prize money) I've just got a new flat and I need to pay the rent for that, so I should be all right!"

Paul Lawrie: (On his albatross at the 7th) The wind was a little off the left and I just hit a nice three-quarter four-iron. I saw it go in which was kind of nice. It was lovely, my first one. It was just the perfect distance really. It felt good."

Matteo Manassero: "The last few weeks I've been playing good so I'm very happy about this experience. Today was a good round and I got to win the silver medal (for leading amateur). It's special for me, it's very good, a great achievement."

Thomas Levet: "(On his hole-in-one at the 15th) It landed about two metres right of the pin about 20 yards short. I could hear the crowd and I could see it getting closer and closer and I saw it disappear, nice memories."

Padraig Harrington: "I hit the ball well enough this week, I just made a couple of poor decisions here and there and didn't hole enough putts. But I don"t have any issues with my game."
