Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Champions League disappointment led him to be linked with a move away from Internazionale, and you can follow the saga in full here.
March 17, 2009 - Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola: "It's obvious that the elimination from the Champions League was painful. He wants to win the Champions League at all costs. He has a contract for a further four years with Inter and, for the time being, there are no problems."
March 18, 2009 - Inter technical director Marco Branca: "We know that he is upset. It is just the sporting disappointment of a champion who really wanted to win the Champions League. I am sure he will get over it and there is no need to talk to him about it."
March 22, 2009 - Ibrahimovic: "After the end of the season, we will see what will happen."
April 17 - Jose Mourinho: "I don't expect there to be an offer for Ibra in the summer because everyone knows an offer of 40, 50 or 60 million euros would be rejected immediately. No one will be able to make an offer of 100 million. I'm absolutely certain no offers will arrive because clubs don't make stupid offers. They don't make stupidly low offers and a stupidly high one won't arrive."
April 25, 2009 - Ibrahimovic: "I have a contract with Inter, but at the same time I would like to try something new because I have been in Italy for five years."
May 13, 2009 - Mino Raiola: "Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are in contact with me, if we do move, it will be to another great team."
May 18, 2009 - "Yes, I really think so," Inter president Massimo Moratti said when asked if he was 90 per cent sure Ibrahimovic would stay.
June 5, 2009 - Mino Raiola: "I only know that if the two clubs find an agreement we would not have trouble agreeing with Barcelona."
June 13, 2009 - Moratti insists that Ibra will not leave in a swap deal with Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o.
June 16, 2009 - Mourinho says Ibra is unlikely to leave as Inter would require 90 million euros to part with him.
June 22, 2009 - Inter president Massimo Moratti says there is a "50 per cent" chance of him leaving in the summer. Raiola claims his client is being forced out, but he has a "99 per cent" chance of staying.
June 29, 2009 - Ibra's agent Raiola insists there have been no bids and that his client's future will be decided by Inter.
July 11, 2009 - In a madcap weekend, Inter say he will definitely stay but the player comes out and says Chelsea are interested and that he would seriously consider moving to England for the sporting challenge. This one has some legs, if not now certainly next summer...
July 13, 2009 - Raiola claims that Manchester United never bid for Ibra and that he is happy at Inter, but makes no mention of Chelsea, who are his real suitors.
July 18, 2009 - Barca and Internazionale reach an agreement in principle to swap Ibrahimovic for Samuel Eto'o plus cash.
July 20, 2009 - A swap deal with Eto'o nears completion with reports in Spain, Italy and Sweden all suggesting a deal will be concluded in the next few days.

Zlatan or whatever he is called, no offence meant but against Eto'o, a proven and reliable striker a comparison whatsoever, even in my sleep i would go with Eto'o anyday. Zlatan's team effort is 0!, once he looses the ball, never tracks back. SAF would never consider him at ManU, cause he would two sluggish players to contend with (Berbatov).
Personally Pepi wanted to get rid of Eto'o, at all cost not knowing Zlatan too can be gun blazing atimes, maybe his quest for the champion league silverware can keep the dog from barking.!!!!!
For those who said that Ibrahimovic never perform in big games, I am sure you never see any international football. His back heel against Italy in Euro 2004 was terrific. If anyone did watch Euro 2008, his individual goal against the eventual champion Spain show that he can ignore all of your defence before he score a great goal.
Ibra need not to be praised. CR7 that turn to CR9 came to Man U as nobody and got everytin before moving on. What has Ibra got with Inter? Won d league base on board room points? Poor u .....................
i agree with comment 19
Etoo is miles and years better than this nonetity ..........ibra who?
Eto'o is better than Ibra! He gonna be lazy at Barca! Never gonna reach Eto'o's level at Barca! fckn s h e t!
look let me tell you it is better you take a move to chelsea now befor it will be too late. we want you come on can make it be a man on your own
hes a you tube player, never seen him play well in big games
Ibra will be too good for CHELSEA, infact i can not wait to see him wearing no.9 jersey for the blues. Just imagine zlatan and drogba or anelka as chelsea forward then lampard,essien/mikel,zhirkov or malouda left wing,kalou/joe cole right wing. the defenders with likes of ashley cole,terry,riccy/alex/ivanovic, bosingwa and cech peter behind them.tel me how chelsea will look like?.
i want zlatan to get player of the year
Zlatan is the best striker in the world right now so i think he will find a club to win the champions league with. I hope it will be barcelona
Zlatan Ibrahimovic wud be a great buy for united, even for the player himself a move to united wud be the best thing for him :) 90 million thou, whats that? like £78 million?
if you want to win the champions legue go to united.Look at Ronaldo his won everything at united so his moved on.
stop being negative, the guy is a great player and he deserve to play with the best and i think that will happen only if he move to Barca
go to barsa ibra!!!! go!!!
to martinmcneill87: The purchase of Berba-top may be hurting and paining you.
He is approaching 30. As well as his price tag as many pounds. Who needs him with as many price as his age i've no idea. On condition that if he gets his price down by at least 7 lemon, then he may start to be courted.
Over-valued, but not overrated. The asking price will prevent anyone from coming after him in this window. Inter really would be a weak side without his contribution.
Please go to Liverpool. Let the fat spanish waiter waste even more money on over-rated players.
Go anywhere except to United, we can get better players than him for less money.
UNITED FOR THE TREBLE.....AGAIN!
Saw him live recently he is one of the top 3 strikers in the world in my view, incredible technical skills for such a tall lad, and in the air is probably no 1 in the world... You can't get a better target man than him... only thing he lacks a little bit in is his work rate, but he is/could be an asset to any side!
