League Two strugglers Chester have recruited Wayne Allison as part of their first-team backroom staff in a bid to record some positive results. The Blues have endured a dreadful start to the season, losing all three matches and conceding 13 goals in the process.
The loss in form prompted owner Stephen Vaughan to shake up the club's coaching structure and appoint Allison.
A club statement said: "Chester City manager Simon Davies has invited former Tranmere Rovers and Chesterfield striker Wayne Allison to assist him with first team coaching duties at the Deva Stadium.
"The 39-year-old Yorkshireman will take over the duties previously undertaken by former assistant manager, Huw Griffiths, who left the club last week."
