Cheltenham manager Keith Downing has hinted that he would be interested in offering trialist Andy Nicholas a permanent contract at the club.Nicholas was instrumental at the heart of defence as the Robins reserve-team beat Swansea 4-0 at Whaddon Road on Tuesday.
Downing admits the centre-back has done his chances of earning a permanent contract no harm during his short spell at the club, but is worried that financial constraints could scupper any deal.
"Andy certainly interests me a lot. He has shown a good attitude and is a strong boy who knows how to defend," Downing told the Western Daily Press.
"I have to look at the situation but his future will be dictated by the constraints I am working under."
