Eagles keen on swoop for John

Wed 20 Aug, 03:00 PM

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has confirmed his interest in signing Fulham's out-of-favour Dutch striker Collins John.Warnock is hoping to boost his Palace attack before the close of the transfer window and has been linked with several players.

Former Holland Under-21 international John is the latest player to have been tipped for a move to Selhurst Park.

And Warnock admits that he is keen to sign John on loan once he has assessed the 22-year-old's fitness.

"We are interested in Collins John, but we want to watch him in a reserve game first," Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.

John has struggled for fitness in recent seasons and has not made a first-team appearance for Fulham in almost 12 months.

He spent spells on loan at Leicester City and Watford last season, and could be offered another taste of Championship football.
