Trollope targeting first victory

Wed 20 Aug, 02:30 PM

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope believes his side's long overdue victory will come against Hereford at the Memorial Stadium this weekend.Rovers lost at home to Carlisle on the opening day of the League One season and were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Watford.

Things improved with a 1-1 draw at Brighton on Saturday and Trollope wants to see continued progress against the Bulls.

"It is a good game for us. Hereford did well last season and we have a lot of respect for them. They'll be looking for their first win, just like us, so there is a lot at stake," Trollope said.

"But Hereford at home is a game we should be looking to win, and we are confident that if we can put a few bits and pieces together then we can win the game.

"Without a couple of bits of bad defending we'd have beaten Carlisle, we took Watford all the way and against Brighton a point was the least we deserved."
