Veteran striker Dougie Freedman is set to lead the line for Southend against Millwall.

The former Scotland international was doubtful for the clash owing to concerns over his fitness following an injury-ravaged year, but he has declared himself fit despite playing against Wycombe on Tuesday.

"I'm feeling good and it wouldn't be a problem for me to start," he told the Southend Echo. "I'm in shape and I feel fit enough to play again."

Winger Damien Scannell has begun training following an ankle injury but will not be involved, while Francis Laurent is sidelined through a similar injury.

Tilson's men will be looking to register their first league win of the season against Kenny Jackett's side. Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Wycombe followed 2-2 draws against Huddersfield and Walsall respectively.
