David Moyes believes Hull City's elevation to the Premier League is good news for English football's top flight.
The Everton manager is preparing his team to travel to the KC Stadium to face Phil Brown's side on Sunday and admits it is a refreshing prospect.
Hull are playing at this level for the first time in their 104-year history this season and Moyes is happy a side that has never ever played in the Premier League before has got the chance to show what they can do.
He said: "I think there are a lot of big traditional clubs down below who have won things like Ipswich Town for example and Sheffield Wednesday - big clubs like that in the Championship.
"Those clubs coming back would be great for them but I also think it's nice to get a new team.
"They have deserved it, they have worked hard to get here, they have got a new stadium and I have said before they are doing well."
Hull have taken seven points from their opening four Premier League matches - including a 2-1 win at St James Park against managerless Newcastle United last weekend - and Moyes believes the Tigers' promising start could help them avoid a much predicted battle against relegation.
"Out of three clubs that have come up, Hull have had the most positive start," Moyes added.
"A good start is really important because if you have some difficult times it can help to pull you through."
Victor Anichebe was carried off during Everton's 2-2 UEFA Cup draw against Standard Liege on Thursday and needs to be assessed by Goodison Park medical staff before making the trip.
Goalkeeper Tim Howard is also struggling with a fever although Moyes expects him to pull through.
Moyes added: "Victor's injury doesn't look as bad as it did and he needs to be checked out and Tim played with a virus.
"We picked up a few other bumps and bruises but that happens."
