David Trezeguet is set for a spell on the sidelines after Juventus announced that the former France forward needs surgery on an injury to his right knee.
The problem has troubled Trezeguet since the start of the season, the club said on their website.
Italian media predict that he is likely to be out for at least two months.
Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero will miss the match at Cagliari with a knee problem, while winger Mauro Camoranesi is also out injured.
