Carlisle manager Greg Abbott bemoaned missed chances after his side lost 2-0 at League One rivals Oldham.
Pawel Abbott set them on their way with his third goal of the season before Keigan Parker opened his Latics account to kill off the below-par visitors.
Abbott said: "It would have been different if we had taken our early chances.
"We had two fantastic opportunities at the start of the game and I suppose we are ruining it now.
"The first half was 50-50 and we probably had more chances than Oldham but we didn`t have that bit of quality we needed in the box.
"After the second goal went in we were fighting an uphill battle. Oldham had looked like they might gift us a goal early on but once you score everybody looks like a better player."
