Delighted Stockport boss Gary Ablett saluted his young team after they secured a well-deserved 2-1 against Leyton Orient.
Nicholas Bignall and Greg Tansey put Stockport two up in the second half, before Tamika Mkandawire hit back with a late consolation for the visitors.
Ablett said: "That was a very important win for us in terms of what happened last week when I thought we dropped two points.
"Our ball retention was good, and we were solid defensively all day. The quality of our back four shouldn't be under-estimated.
"There was a bit of panic stations at the end when they scored, but I'm pleased we held on."
