Billy Davies was left to rue a host of missed opportunities as his side slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Blackpool.

Forest dominated much of the game but could not find a way through a resolute Blackpool defence and they eventually lost to a Charlie Adam strike.

"It was just one of those days when things didn't work out for us and it sums it up when their manager apologised to me at the end of the game," said Davies.

"It was very honest of him and I've got great respect for that but it was very frustrating for us.

"We had 19 opportunities to score and battered them but unfortunately for us we didn't get the three points.

"We know we have to take our chances. It's all about being more clinical but we will dust ourselves down and get ready to go again on Tuesday against Blackburn in the Carling Cup."
