Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson admitted it was a relief to see his side finally win a Championship game following the 3-2 win over Reading.
Posh have made a stuttering start to life in the second tier and when they found themselves 2-0 down at half-time it looked as if that elusive win would have to wait.
But a stirring fightback in the second half saw Craig Mackail-Smith, Aaron McLean and George Boyd seal the points to leave Ferguson a happy man.
"It feels great to have got the monkey off our backs," he said. "The lads could have gone one of two ways in the second half. They could have hidden and gone under but they showed immense character to turn things around and pick up a great result.
"I always felt we would have a chance if we could score the first goal in the second half and that's the way it turned out.
"The fans were absolutely unbelievable and they played a big part in getting us through. Hopefully this can now be the turning point of our season."
