Hill happy to break away duck

Rochdale boss Keith Hill hailed his side after they recorded their first victory on the road this season with a 2-1 triumph against Northampton at Sixfields.

Ryan Gilligan looked to have earned the Cobblers a share of the spoils after he cancelled out Chris O'Grady's first half opener.

But Will Buckley's second-half strike ensured Dale took all three points.

"In the end it was a comfortable win for us but we've not been punished for some missed opportunities in the game," said Hill.

"We looked very comfortable in the first half and played some good football but Northampton put us under a lot of pressure with their direct play in the second half.

"It was negative pressure but we didn't deal with it and the equaliser could have rocked us. But we've had chances to win it more comfortably and at the moment it's working well for us."
