Reading manager Brendan Rodgers accused his players of being "tactically naive" after they let a two-goal half-time lead slip in the 3-2 defeat at Peterborough.
Gylfi Sigurdsson and Simon Church had put the Royals on course for a second away win of the season, but they were blitzed in the second period by a fine Peterborough display to end up with nothing.
"There is no way we should have come out of the game with anything less than three points," said Rodgers. "We were excellent in the first half when we scored two goals and could easily have led by three or four.
"We knew Peterborough would have to change their system to stop us playing in the second half, but we failed to match them up and were somewhat tactically naive.
"The game sums up our season and will hopefully act as a wake-up call."

Happy yet phil. I SAID HAPPY YET PHIL???? Could you hear the Watford fans sing of course you could we dominated the singing.
Why do people forget about all the Millions that Madejski has put into the club in the years that he has been at Reading, it is thanks to him that Reading is still in any of the leagues, if Maxwell had taken us over we would most like be gone by now along with Oxford United who Maxwell planned to merge with. People have got very short memories, haven't they. There are wages to pay and upkeep of the stadium. Madejski has stopped pouring Money into Reading's coffers, he is now only a figurehead, Reading has to stand up on their own. I expect he will sell Reading one of these days and I just hope we get some one who will put more money into Readings coffers and we can then start to buy some decent players. Reading could do with some one like that Shiek who has bought Man City.
Every body is putting the blame at Mr Rodgers door, I think people should look higher up the ladder to JM!!!
Where has all the money gone for the last two years since we came down???..Where has the money gone from the sale of players this year??.....JM has short arms and deep pockets, very fat pockets as well, he wants to sell the club, so he is just extracting all the money out of it, and building his pension fund,!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never liked the bloke and never will!!
ginger & his cronies must go NOW!!!!!
I went to that game, in the first half it was Reading against a pub team, the second half however was nearly all p'bror. Reading now need to learn to play for 90 mins and adapt to the tactics employed by the opposition.
P'boro had to change and they did and looked a different team, We just carried on the same and yep lost. (again).
I hope for your sake Mr Rogers that Reading beat Watford next week or you will need ear plugs so as not to hear what the supporters will be calling you.
see how happy everyone is next weekend rodgers and co
