Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson was thrilled with his team after they claimed their third win in four outings against Lincoln.
A goal from Jake Robinson and a Dave Hibbert penalty secured a 2-0 win as the in-form Shrews moved to seventh in League Two.
Simpson said: "I have said to the players that was our most professional performance in the last 16 months.
"We were disciplined and played when we could. Apart from a couple of chances we missed at the end I cannot complain, but I am not really bothered, I would have taken 2-0 before the whistle.
"The best thing for me was the way we defended, the keeper and our back four gave us a real base.
"In our last three or four results we have shown real determination, the togetherness is coming after a lot of changes."
