Top 14 - Toulouse beat Aviron to lead table
Toulouse beat Aviron Bayonnais 29-20 to leapfrog their opponents at the summit of the Top 14 table.
Census Johnston and Clement Poitrenaud’s two tries in the last ten minutes of the game ultimately proved crucial in Toulouse winning the game and taking the standing lead over their Friday night opponents on goal difference.
Aviron took an early 11-6 lead courtesy of Joe Pieterson’s early try before the scores late in the half turned the game in Toulouse’s favour handing them a 23-10 interval lead.
Yoann Huget touched down for the visitors in the second half but they couldn’t score again and David Skrela’s sixth successful kick (four penalties, two conversions) and Nicolas Bezy’s penalty kept a comfortable lead for the hosts.
