Premier League - Mourinho wants English return

Eurosport - Mon, 20 Oct 12:05:00 2008

Jose Mourinho has said that he intends to return to the Premier League when his time as Internazionale coach comes to an end.

FOOTBALL 2008-2009 Serie A Internazionale Inter-Lecce Mourinho - 0

"I'm in love with the English league and I'll definitely return one day," the former Chelsea manager told Sky television after his side's 4-0 win over Roma, while also denying media reports linking him to Liverpool.

"I think that's what I want to do after Inter. Everyone says that I want to go to Spain, that I want to be the coach of my national team.

"It's not true. I want to return to England after Inter."

However, the 45-year-old Portuguese also said he had no immediate plans to move on.

"I have a contract with Inter. I'm happy with Inter," he said.

Mourinho led Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2005 and 2006 after inspiring un-fancied Porto to Champions League glory in 2004.

  6. why did he make such a comment right now? morati loves him, inter is playing well and they have a good chance of winning everything (serie a and the cl).
well, if he wants to return to england, he'd better choose man utd. man city will be a stupid choice. all these new-money clubs have no clue of football and jose should have taken his lesson, dealing with abramovich. if he leaves inter (why on earth would he do this? milan is a great city and italy by far a better place to live than england) he d better go to a team which respects good coaches like no other. man utd.

  7. I respect Mourinho because of his achievement in Porto, but going by that achievement there are other greater coaches who donot make noise like him.Check out Raphael Benitez and his achievement at Valencia and his first season at liverpool.Look at Anchieloti of AC MILAN,and SIR HIMSELF(Alex freguson)then the greatest coach on Earth FABIO CAPELLO.These are coaches that donot need the millions Mourinho needs to operate
This statement of claiming that he would love to return to the premiership is all about trying to get manchester city to be intrested in him. There isn,t any new magic going on in Inter right now his predessesor won the league twice and even in one occassion was unbeaten in the intalian league.
Am not a fan of liverpool, manchester united or an English man

  9. I for one agree with Eddie...
    Jose Moaniho at United???
Its possible, so you can never write that off...
Once Fergie, Lord of Old Trafford leaves the club, its gonna be difficult in the extreme to do as well as him...
    Naw, Id say impossible...
Its gonna take a very conifedent man to take over, so yeah, I think Eddie could be right...

  10. Under mourinho, chelsea was a winning team. But under scolari, chelsea plays football and wins. jose is no doubt very good at winning, but i think scolari is class.

  11. I think that the sheer impact he had on Chelsea and English football will never be fully recognised because he had the unfortunate disposition of thinking in portuguese and speaking in english which lead to many misquotes in the english press.

Mourinho's undoing was his reaction to being refused when faced with an injury crisis, he requested for extra transfer money and was turned down. A year later, a certain gentleman called Avram Grant got money to buy, and what did he do? Also, there is no doubt Scolari will be given money in January. Thanks Jose, but sometimes you need to button your lip!

As a chelsea fan, I will never forget what he did for the club.

  12. Who is he kidding ? He always wanted to be the coach either at Barçelona or Real Madrid. He also made no secret of his desire to be the head coach of Portugal.Enough BS !!

  17. Jose is a powerful coach any day any time. He knows the job. Honestly, any good coach like Jose will always want to coach any big club in the premier league-the most well developed league in the world.

  18. Comment hidden due to its low rating. Show

No way Jose! Please stay where you are, there is no place for you back here. Chelski don't want you, you have no chance of a job with ManU or Liverpool, and you would consider any club smaller than them as being beneath you.
There is enough claptrap and hot wind coming out of the Government without you being on the scene.
So, remain in European countries, there are plenty of clubs for you to have a go at before they all find you out and discover that you are just a big bag of wind.
