Eurosport - Mon, 20 Oct 16:02:00 2008

Barcelona starlet Jeffren Suarez would love the chance to follow the path taken by Marc Crosas in the summer by making a move to Celtic.

The Venezuelan-born winger has now joined Sylvinho (pictured) in declaring an interest in joining the Scottish champions.

Suarez is part of Barca's first-team squad after being promoted from the B squad by coach Pep Guardiola in pre-season.

However, he is yet to make his La Liga debut and is being tipped to make a January switch to Parkhead.

Celtic have very good relations with Barca having taken Crosas from the Nou Camp.

Now the Bhoys are lining up a deal for Suarez and also Sylvinho - who has already stated he fancies making the move.

"I have some chances to play for Celtic and it would be an excellent destination," he said.

"I have spoken with Marc [Crosas] and he told me that there is an excellent atmosphere at the club in all aspects."

Suarez's agent is his father and he added: "We have spoken with Barca and [Pep] Guardiola and they accept he can leave.

"We expect more to happen in the next few weeks."

Barca full-back Sylvinho has also stated his intention to move to the SPL champions.

The former Arsenal defender said: "If there was an official offer and we could agree terms, I would be very, very excited about a move to Glasgow."

Czech midfielder Pavel Zavadil could also be set for a January move to Celtic, although he reacted with shock when told he had been scouted by the Hoops.

The 30-year-old helped Swedish second division side Orgryte to promotion to the Allesvenskan this season, which has just finished.

"What? They were here to look at me?" Zavdil told the Gothenburg Post.

"Celtic? I really can't believe it."

Veteran team-mate Marcus Allback, formerly of Aston Villa and FC Copenhagen, has also been linked with a loan move to Celtic.

  4. POINT 11: Welcome to the Paul G bashing forum, kindly sponsored by Andrex (well, Paul G's just a little 4r5e-wipe anyway!!..) You should make a point of reading the celtic-based messages, since Paul G posts there regularly, despite the stick he gets!! Good old Maggie Thatcher - Saviour of Paul G, and other "care in the community" cases!!

  5. I have never ever felt the need to comment on any such discussion, but i thought id make an effort, as i do like to read the bashing Paul G gets from everybody. what a nob! hail hail! Celtic have the worst record in Europe? fact? they have a bad away record, what is your record? you have tae go running back to wally smith to get yoursels being knocked out of europe on the first hurdle again!

  7. 7 & 8: Paul G couldnae even handle a hauf pint o' lager shandy!! As for Rangers fans emptying the beer tents last year, surely it Was only the Courage Brewery tent?.. That's because they needed all the courage they could get! Rumour has it they're waiting for Heineken to take over Courage Brewery, so that they can then drink several pints of Dutch Courage!! LOL!!

  8. Stevie B is this the same pub team that traveled to manchester to raid the beer tent ,surely they would top that league.

  9. Stevie, We tims follow you, But I don't think Paul G has a house. And be careful about arranging games with pub teams, I hear he is a raging alcoholic and is banned from most pubs in Scotland.

From Geester, on Tue 21 Oct 3:10AM
  10. Point 4: Gerry, Rangers don't have a European League that they would naturally qualify for.. I spoke to Michel Platini, and advised him to set up a "DIDDIES WHO COULDNAE KICK A TANNER-BAW" league, but I couldn't quite get the concept through to him.. Mibees I was being too scottish!! I even asked him to arrange that all matches in my proposed league be played within walking distance of PAUL G's house, so that he could see his precious Gers getting humped by Schittenkrappen Bierkeller of Germany, and other Sunday pub teams throughout Europe!!

  12. Hey Paul G, I guess you need to actually make it to the champions league to even become a statistic. This is something your beloved huns fail to do on a regular occasion. I think I would rather be the worst team of the 32 that make it than one of the dumplins that don't even qualify in the first place. Oh yeah and It's called Champions league not runners up league. Maybe you would do better in that competition.
Thanks for continuing to look daft.

  13. Another barca dud who cant get a reserve team game wants to join celtic because nobody else is daft enough to sign him. Bit like Crosas really is it not?

Why are you saying bring on the man utd, that is a bit daft is it no. They are gonna pummel the champs league whipping bhoys as they do have the worst record in champs league history. And oh yes they do. FACT
