Pumas name autumn internationals squad

Argentina have named a squad of 24 to train in Paris later this month in preparation for the Pumas' November tour of Britain.

The squad will train at Meudon from October 25 to 27 under coach Santiago Phelan and his staff which includes former France scrum-half and Stade Francais coach Fabien Galthie.

The list provided by the Argentine Rugby Union includes Toulon's Felipe Contepomi (pictured) who has recovered from the knee injury he suffered while playing for former club Leinster last season and will lead the side.

Natal Sharks' fly-half Juan Martin Hernandez is missing from the training camp squad but is expected to be in the team to face England on November 14, Wales on November 21 and Scotland on November 28.

Also missing are England-based centre Gonzalo Tiesi of Harlequins, prop Marcos Ayerza of Leicester Tigers and London Irish scrum-half Alfredo Lalanne who are also expected to be in Phelan's plans.

Stade Francais flanker Juan Manuel Leguizamon, who helped Argentina beat England 24-22 in their last meeting in Salta in June, is missing through injury.

The list does not include players from the teams involved in the semi-finals this weekend and final on October 31 of the Buenos Aires Union's Top 14 championship.
