Grayson praise for Beckford

Simon Grayson hailed Jermaine Beckford after his last-gasp strike clinched a fortunate 2-1 win over Norwich - but the Leeds manager spared a thought for the unlucky Canaries.

Rookie goalkeeper Fraser Forster gifted Leeds with an injury-time winner when his poor goalkick went straight to Beckford, who clinically seized the chance to fire his side back to the top of League One.

Grayson said: "It is a cruel game when a keeper makes a mistake like that because he also made some great saves. But you have to accept gifts like that when they come along and Jermaine did just that."

He continued: "He missed other opportunities but he doesn't shy away from them.

"Everyone turned away expecting their keeper to kick the ball 60 yards down the pitch but Jermaine was looking for any mistake and he took full advantage."

Grayson added: "Norwich were excellent. I was settling for 1-1 at half-time because they had a lot of possession and were causing us problems but full credit to our players, we looked dangerous in the second half."
