New loan signing Nery Castillo revealed he was so determined to seal a move to Manchester City he helped negotiate the terms of the deal.The 23-year-old Mexican international striker completed his year-long loan from Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday and will be available for selection to City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson from January onwards.

"I'm delighted to come to the club. The welcome I've had is the reason why I've come here," he told the club's official website.

"I knew from the very first moment that I came to the club that this is where I want to play my football.

"It was a frustrating time at Shakhtar and yes, I helped make the move happen, but that shows you how much I want to play football and want to play for Manchester City.

"I've been very impressed with everything I've seen here. The manager clearly is a great manager and the club is going in a positive direction and I want to be part of that."
