Steve Tilson insists his Southend side go into Saturday's home clash with in-form Oldham confident after recent successes at Roots Hall.Back-to-back wins over Oxford, Swindon and Huddersfield have helped United progress in the FA Cup and place them firmly in the play-off pack.

The Latics travel south unbeaten in nine games in all competitions but Tilson is convinced his players can emerge victorious.

Tilson told the club's official website: "Oldham have won the last four away games so it's a tough game for us and one we've got make sure we start well.

"We've won the last three home games so we're going into the game with confidence and we're looking forward to it."

Midfielder Nick Bailey will miss the game as he serves a one-match ban, and Tilson added: "Nick has been outstanding for us this season and I'm sure he'll be missed. But we've got competition for places and are looking forward to Saturday's game."
