The Honda Formula One team are continuing to develop their 2009 car in the hope of finding a buyer after the Japanese carmaker's decision to leave the World Championship.
Chief executive Nick Fry reiterated that there had been interest in buying the squad.
"We have had a high level of interest in the team since Honda Motor Co. announced their withdrawal from Formula One," he told Autosport.
"Since that time, (team principal) Ross (Brawn) and I have been engaged in ongoing discussions with several serious potential new owners who have expressed an interest in purchasing the team.
"Work on the development and build of our 2009 car continues during the next few weeks to ensure that our objective of being on the grid at Melbourne at the end of March will be achieved."
The F1 season starts in Australia on March 29.
Honda, possibly the sport's biggest spenders with an annual budget estimated at more than £150 million, announced this month they were pulling out of the sport due to the global financial crisis.
Fry said on December 5 that two or three "global players" had expressed interest in the team, but no details have been provided since then.
Honda's exit has left British driver Jenson Button, who had a contract with Honda for next season, facing an uncertain future.

I'm sorry but "Schumacher's 7 titles can be beaten easily". Don't think so. Personally I think it will be a long time before Schumcher's record is broken. He had an advantage of the best car for nearly a decade, Ross Brawn alongside of him, a team who would move the heavens to get him what he wanted. Oh and he was the best driver of his generation by a million miles. With F1 moving to a more "standardised" playing field it will be harder for any driver or team to dominate. And I think for the first time in a while we have a clutch of drivers that are all similar in talent and between them may well share the F1 crown over the next five or six years. Alonso, Hamilton,Kubica,Vettel, Raikonnen,Rosberg, Button. Take your pick!
Axel, I think you are just as equally bias as bernard is. I thought you show a bit better attitude. No question that Schumi's 7 times championship title can be broken easily because simply drivers are entering F1 younger and younger. I suppose if schumi had entered F1 at the age of 20, he might be a 8 times or 9 times. It is purely speculation until it happens.
I do find your remarks equally does not give due respect to the winners. In Bernard's case is Hamilton and in your case Schumi.
bernard, come on! Shumi records are easily breakable; it is just question of one team and driver ready to cheat (crashing other drivers, and etc.) and a teammate willing to stop to let pass.
Regarding Glok, he has no reason to let Hamilton pass. Massa is just another crapy driver in a good car who has chamnption material.
Finally, about youtube videos, it is very nice to see ferrari celebration Massa victory :)
i must admit after reading some of these posts Touron does have a point.
Why did glok slow down so much in the last lap..
Why was glok driving on the wet side of the track in the last few remaining bends allowing hamilton to take the inside DRY line to victory.
HHHmmmmmm.....seems a little suspicious to me...Can anyone enlighten me as to why Glok was on wet side of track in last few bends, considering he had slicks on and all
Whats it all about..
Why cant this question be answered especially by mclaren fans and especially by Doughnut Ray $%^&...
Why has the evidence ie..the last lap of the brazilian GB especially the last few corners been removed from You Tube..
Why do Mclaren fans keep running away from this question and the Truth..
people keep saying wait till jeremey clarkson show..all will be revealed...
i mean considering glok was on slick tyres why was he driving right in the wet line of the track on the last few corners..everyone keeps saying they are surprised he finished at all considering the conditions...Various posts state it was like an ice rink...
So why was Glok driving in the WET on SLICKS on the WET LINE NOT/ THE DRY LINE on the last few bends....please tell im waiting and have been all Day and probably will be for a long time yet.

P G your appalling use of English makes me believe that you are not British. Are you an illegal immigrant or some sort of basket case.
although most of the posts on here by Marnio are utter rubbish, his last post unfortunately is true.
"it politicians not know anything and have led the country to the sorry state it in now. nobody in their right mind would choose to live there. it is crime/drug ridden state with no social morals. there so many people in such small place there nowhere to move."
I am English and lived in the UK all my life but if i had the means to get out i would. I'm not a Hamilton fan but i can't blame him for getting out of this dump now he's got the money to do it, and there are thousands like him doing the same, record numbers of people are emigrating from this country every year.
Ok it's been nearly two months now and marnio and several other so called 'fans' are still harping on about Brazil. The championship is over, the title is decided let it rest. You speak as if your incessant whining and abusive tones will somehow magically change time and the result will shift towards Massa. Guess what, it hasn't and it won't just move on and look towards next year.
Just bring back Lotus !!!!!!!!!
Get a life Marnio. You have nothing to say, clearly you know nothing about F1 and you were almost certainly abused as a child. Go and plague the Barbie Doll forum where you can meet people of a similar age.

pdmcosworth - prodrive lol sonny boy they have bailed out of WRC they have their arab backers trying to flog ten percent of what they bought and no one has money to buy so many aston martins to stop them hermeraging cash. You are dreaming
If the new buyer comes to fruition maybe the first intelligent move would be to find two decent bloody drivers.
The demise of Honda F1 has been so sudden, and the time to the start of the 2009 F1 season is so short, what chance is there of a buyer stepping in and having the financial muscle to take on Honda's huge commitments? There may be a number of interested global players (Prodrive, Super Aguri, Ford, Arden etc.) but which of them can stump up the $160 million to keep it going? Time's running out.....
markrose260 please do not get so excited about Marnio, Never Y etc he is not Peruvian, he is not even human. Just ignore, no comments, no thumbs down - just ignore.
so marino wants it like the old days. when Hill, Moss etc ruled the sport. Oh British drivers winning again. Don't think the whinging Peruvian would stop then. Peru's greatest export. Paddington bear.
pdmcosworth. Prodrive will not be buying the team as Dave richards already has his own in place and is now deciding what to do after loosing subaru from the WRC.
Oh and as for Ferrari's new partner Tata. so big and good eh. They built the city rover. the worst car ever to hit the uk and they are asking for a bailout from the uk goverment for their landrover and jaguar factory. Good luck Ferrari. you'll need it with them in your corner.
