Jackett prefers permanent signings

Mon 21 Jan, 02:45 PM

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett insists he would rather sign players permanently than bring in loan signings during the transfer window.Jackett is searching for reinforcements after defeat to Tranmere at the weekend left the Lions struggling in the relegation zone, but said he would only look into loan signings as a last resort.

"My first option is trying to bring players in on permanent deals," he said.

"But if I need to bring in people on loan deals to cover for injury or loss of form I won't hesitate to do it."

Jackett was bemused by his side's loss on Saturday but is confident they will make amends against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

"I'm very frustrated, I don't think Tranmere created anything," he added. "It didn't happen but we roll onto the next game and that's Nottingham Forest."
