Johnson looking to bounce back

Mon 21 Jan, 05:15 PM

Gary Johnson is determined Bristol City's loss to Crystal Palace will not ruin his side's season as they hunt promotion from the Championship. The Robins, who have taken the Championship by storm on their return after an eight-year absence, conceded ground to league leaders West Brom and relinquished second place in the table to Watford following Saturday's 2-0 loss at Selhurst Park.

Johnson insists he will be working hard to ensure that his side bounce back at home to Blackpool at the weekend.

"If you are not careful, this is the kind of defeat that can spoil your season," said Johnson. "We all feel down about losing, but it is important we don't allow it to affect us. We are still in a very good position and the boys must not lose belief.

"We will work with the players and give them back their belief. We will work very hard and see if we can put things right against Blackpool.

"Blackpool will be a different game and a different challenge and we have to go into it with the confidence to bounce back."
