James Blake after watching his favourite NFL team the New York Giants reach the Super Bowl in the locker room prior to his fourth-round win over Marin Cilic: "Thank goodness the girls before me went three sets, otherwise I would've missed it and been wondering (the) whole match. It was just a good day for the Giants fans. I think it still would have been a good day if the Giants had lost and I had won."

Roger Federer after staying up to watch some of Lleyton Hewitt's late-night duel with Marcos Baghdatis despite having just finished his own four-hour victory: "You know me, I am a die-hard tennis fan. I had to have a massage (after his match with Tipsarevic) late in the night, but my eyes shut after the third set."

David Ferrer after grinding down fellow Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero: "I beat Juan Carlos playing very well, it was a very tough match. I am very happy. Now I am a little bit tired. I had problems in the fourth set because the match was very tough."

Former French Open champion Ferrero: "Always playing against David is difficult. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes on the court. Physically, he's very complete, so (it) is very difficult to win against him the points. I knew before the match that it was going to be difficult."

Novak Djokovic ends the hopes of home favourite Lleyton Hewitt: "I was very, very, very nervous. In the first set I was lucky, but then afterwards I relaxed and tried to be aggressive and take control of the match which I did. Of course, Lleyton was very tired from the (Marcos) Baghdatis match a couple of nights ago, so I took my opportunities."

Hewitt admitted that he had been beaten by the better man: "He's shown in big matches and over best-of-five sets in the big tournaments that he is the worthy world number three at the moment. And he's a lot better player than he was 12 months ago, I think, when he lost to Roger (Federer) here last year. He's got a great all-court game."

Fourth seed Ana Ivanovic looks forward to her heavyweight quarter final clash with Venus Williams: "Last two Grand Slams [the US Open and Wimbledon] I lost to her. It's exactly the time for some revenge. I think I'm a little bit of a different player than I was last time I played her. I got even fitter and stronger on the court."

Williams on the clash: "I've got a little something going on but it's not going to hurt anybody. I've come close here before but my little sister Serena has taken it away from me. To win the singles would be a dream come true. But I have a lot of respect for Ana and won't be taking her lightly."

Agnieszka Radwanska after recovering from dropping the first set to beat Nadia Petrova: "I was losing 6-1, 3-0 and I was thinking, 'what am I doing wrong?' It was so quick and she was using the wind very well, and I wasn't. I think that was the most important point in this match. Then I started to play, try to do something else. It was very long games and I won the second set. It was so close. In the third set, I don't know what she was doing, but it's not a question for me."

Petrova on her third set capitulation: "I couldn't do anything because I couldn't run at the end of the third set, so that was it."
